BONE Regeneration Models

Lunatum Biotech is a preclinical CRO with a special focus on CRO bone services offering well-established, valid, and reproducible in-vitro and in-vivo bone regeneration models for common and rare bone diseases:

in-vitro:

- 2D and 3D culture of mesenchymal stem cells, and bone cells, single culture or co-culture system, using cells from various species, including human cells;

- use and culture of regenerative tissue material for (trans-)differentiation studies using tissue from various species

in-vivo:

Bone defect animal models (mouse, rat, rabbit, minipig, sheep):

 critical size bone defects:

In the CSBD model, a large defect that can´t heal by itself is created surgically in the femur, tibia, jaw or skull. Depending on the location, the bone may require stabilization by a nail or plate.

non critical size bone defects:

The NCSBD model involves the surgical creation of a small defect that will heal by itself over time in the femur, tibia, jaw or skull. Depending on the location, the bone may require stabilization by a nail or plate.

Evaluation:

Lunatum Biotech offers an array of the most widely accepted and meaningful evaluation methods for bone repair, applying PCR, NGS, Western blotting, ELISA, histology, immunohistochemistry, x-ray, CT, IVIS, biomechanical testing, pain assessment, gait analysis and more ...
