CRO osteoporosis: Lunatum Biotech is a preclinical CRO with a special focus on CRO bone services offering well-established, valid, and reproducible in-vitro and in-vivo osteoporosis models:

in-vitro:

- 2D and 3D culture of mesenchymal stem cells, and bone cells, single culture or co-culture system, using cells from various species, including human cells

in-vivo:

OVX models: 

In the OVX model, estrogen deficiency is created surgically by bilateral ovariectomy. It is the most widely used model for female, postmenopausal osteoporosis.

ORX models:

In the ORX model, androgen deficiency is created surgically by orchidectomy. It is the most widely used model for male osteoporosis. 

GIO models:

In the GIO model, glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis is elicited by prednisolone treatment.
