Lunatum Biotech offers cartilage research services using well-established, valid, and reproducible in-vitro and in-vivo cartilage repair models:
in-vitro:
- 2D and 3D culture of mesenchymal stem cells, and cartilage cells, single culture or co-culture system, using cells from various species, including human cells;
- tissue explant culture, in-vitro simulation of a joint (mini joint), or use and culture of regenerative tissue material for (trans-)differentiation studies using tissue from various species
in-vivo:
Focal cartilage defect animal models (mouse, rat, rabbit, minipig, sheep):
partial thickness cartilage defects:
In the PTCD model, a partial thickness defect is created surgically in the upper cartilage layer in a joint.
full thickness cartilage defects:
The FTCD model involves the surgical creation of a focal defect with respect to all cartilage layers but sparing the subchondral bone.
osteochondral defects:
In the OCD model, a defect in all cartilage layers and the subchondral bone is created by a joint surgery procedure.
Evaluation:
Lunatum Biotech offers CRO cartilage services applying an array of the most widely accepted and meaningful evaluation methods for cartilage repair, including PCR, NGS, ELISA, Luminex, histology, immunohistochemistry, micro-CT, MRI, IVIS, biomechanical testing, pain assessment, gait analysis and more ...
